Women in Prostitution
Justice Acts has been, from the beginning, a very grassroots-level organization, trying to be as close to women in prostitution and potential victims as possible. We began by reaching out to women who are working in prostitution on a busy road very close to where we are based. For a couple of years, it was a very important part of our work here, but not very successful, by tangible measurements. But in the more recent years, and with the help of local people, we have started to meeting them weekly outside of their workplace.
Out of these experiences (you can read more about these experiences on our Justice Acts South Africa website) we created a tool focused on helping communities, churches, and individuals to reach out to women in prostitution. We encourage coming along side those working in prostitution, without any judgment, while helping them in healing and discovering the value we have as humans together.
